Learn the Bodhran with individual tuition or in group workshops. One lesson will get you going and give you the basics.
Susie has been teaching the bodhran for several years, to folk groups at festivals or in her home. One 11/2 hour lesson will teach the basics and point you towards suitable repetoire. After that, you may want more lessons to refine technique, or you may want to go it alone.

- Pulse & Rhythm
- Starting to play - basic rhythms
- What is a Reel?
- What is a Jig?
- Effects with the left hand
- Putting your rhythms to music
- Session etiquette
The lessons incorporates plenty of hands on practice.
Susie teaches:
Single One-off Lessons to individuals
Single Workshops to groups
Flexible programme of short lessons (half hour- 3/4 hour) to individuals until the learning is achieved.
If a group would like a workshop then most of the group will need their own Bodhran, and be willing to share.
For those who are not sure, Susie will lend you a bodhran for the duration of the lesson and you can try it out.
If you are looking to investigate Bodhran playing prior to buying one, then an initial lesson can take place using Susie's own Bodhran, and help and advice can be given in sourcing the right Bodhran for you.
